Bhavesh
Unfortunately, lost his father back in 2004. Bhavesh’s mother has been the sole bread winner for Bhavesh and his sister, Komal, by working in a factory with salary of Rs 15000 pm, and staying in a rented house. Bhavesh is going to pursue his BTech from Sat Guru Darshan University in Faridabad. He has been granted a scholarship of Rs 50,000 every year with a commitment of Rs 2 lacs for the full course. We hope Bhavesh will show the same grit and determination like his mother and we wish him the best for his future.
Pinky
At VPM, we get the opportunity of meeting people who, through sheer determination, hardwork, and strength of mind, manage to achieve what many others would think impossible. Pinky’s is one of many such cases. Having scored 79% marks in class 12th from the Haryana Board of Education, wishes to pursue B.Com.
It was an inspiration to meet her father. Apart from Pinky, he has two other children, elder one pursuing B. Tech and the younger one still in school. To take care of their studies, even though working in a factory with a salary of Rs 10,000 per month only, her father goes from shop to shop to pick up orders for supply of biscuits etc and earns up to Rs 200 daily from this activity.
For her college studies, VPM has granted a scholarship of Rs 30,000 for the first year of college with a total commitment of Rs 90,000 for the entire course. Such determined parents from low income groups want to bring about a change in the country by ensuring that their children study well and earn well to be out of the low income earning category and we are delighted to be able to help these parents reap the fruits of their hard work. Hats off to their spirit!
Sweta
Sweta, a brilliant girl from Khambi Village, has studied in her village CBSE school and scored 83% marks. Unfortunately, she lost her father at an early age and her mother took care of her studies with a meagre monthly pension and share of partial agricultural produce from the joint family. Further education for Sweta seemed difficult as her mother was not keeping well and elder sister was already married. In spite of securing admission for D.Pharma. at B R College of Pharmacy in Mohna Village, she could not meet the requirement for compulsory hostel accommodation due to insufficient funds. We are grateful to the College management, especially the principal, Mr Sharma, for their support and for consideration of fees concession for Sweta. The fees were reduced by Rs 10,000 to Rs 36,000. For us, this was a great motivation to help Sweta further. Considering the cost of a daily journey of 5 hours, VPM has considered a scholarship of Rs 48,000 for her first year of education, with a commitment of total Rs 1 lac for the entire course.
At VPM, we are accumulating happiness from assisting such brilliant and needy students.
May God bless her with success so she can be independent and pursue her dreams.
