Vishwa Prakash Mission (VPM)
Vishwa Prakash Mission (VPM) is a young, charitable trust which was registered on 25th July, 2016. The trust strives for the upliftment of the deserving students from families from underprivileged section of society.
Vishwa Prakash Mission is established by the Trustees who believe “it is time to pay back to Society. Mr Rakesh Sethi, Chairman of the Trust wanted to be CA post his B.Com graduation, but could not proceed further due to financial constraints of the family. Having gone through the difficult phase of life, with only a pair of dress during his college studies, he understands the ambitions and constrains of youngsters, from his own experience. Starting journey of earning from Rs 250 a month in private sector in 1976, he joined Bank of India in April 1978 , while pursuing LLB from Delhi University (evening law centre). From there onwards, with his grit, determination and God blessings, He scaled up to level of Executive Director of Union Bank of India. Idea of forming Trust was conceptualised while he was in London, back in 2012 . While being in Union Bank of India , idea became more firm. As Vice Chairman Union Bank Social Foundation and he was instrumental in spearheading many social projects in rural area, Swatch Bharat Mission and in field of education.
Upon his retirement in June 2016, within two months, Vishwa Prakash Mission ( VPM) was formed and registered as Charitable Trust on 25/07/2016. The Trust VPM is registered under Section 12 AA of Income Tax Act on 26/09/2017 and approval to raise donation under 80 G was obtained on 18/5/2018 which is extended upto assessment year 2036/37 and 2031/32 respectively.
Vishwa Prakash Mission feels privileged to have helped 812 students with cumulative disbursement of Rs 4.81 Crores.
We are firm believers that girls should be encouraged to pursue higher studies and financial constraint should not be a hurdle. Out of 812 students assisted 377 are girl students. 177 students have lost one/both parents at an early age.
We feel proud in having assisted 242 B tech, 227 MBBS, 77 Healthcare Sector, 63 CA/CS students out of total strength of 812 students.

| 501 to 600 | 6 months Oct 24 to March 25 |
| 601 to 700 | 6 months Apr 25 to Oct 25 |
| 701 to 800 | 4 months Nov 25 to Feb 26 |

We are determined to assist 1000 students realise their dreams of higher education with the grace of God and donors support by 2027. Next Target is to assist 2000 students by/ before March 2031 of which 1000 shall be MBBS/ B tech students, a small effort from our side to make Bharat Atma Nirbhar.

Our Donors
The Trustees believe in Charity begins at home. Following this spirit, Rakesh Sethi, Chairman of the Trust is contributing Rs 3 lacs every year since beginning of the Trust.
Sethi’s family and Gupta’s family follow the same spirit. Contributions from both the families for the last 3 years are in the range of Rs 25 lacs per year.
We are blessed to be associated with several corporates; not only from the Banking Industry but also from Industries engaged in Industrial Engineering and Pharma etc .
Veterans from banking industry including Ex CMDs, EDs, GMs, Senior officers as well as a large number of well-wishers, through their donations, are making this noble & challenging work of assisting poor students in the college education more rewarding.
As a matter of ethical practice, we don’t accept CASH Donations.
