Laxmi
Fire in the belly
Daughter of security guard, Laxmi studied in Navodaya School ,assisted by VPM gets selected for internship in MNC with allowance above Rs1 lac.

Laxmi is young girl, who knows how to handle challenges and poverty. She did her 12th from Navodaya School, appeared for JEE Mains exams just a day after having suffered from Covid . She got admission in NIT Kurukeshtra
for her B Tech in Electric Engineering even when Information Technology was her choice. She is already through with 3 semesters and in last semester her score was 9.38. Marvellous performance after initial hiccups of Online exams etc in first two semesters.
She told me on visit to VPM office that she was given a book by her teacher on Coding as a gift on her passing out class12th. Laxmi while doing her regular studies in Electrical Stream, picked up her interest in Coding and started trying her hands on coding too. Within one year, she applied for internship in MNC not on basis of her core studies but based on confidence gained in coding. She went through the interview process and submitted her project to MNC. She was one amongst the 3000 students who applied for internship and around 309 are selected, Laxmi being one of them .
Happiness on her face , being from humble background, and being selected for internship in MNC of repute in IT field with internship allowance of Rs1 lac plus, is treasured by VPM, as we feel blessed to have supported such determined and intelligent girl who has gone beyond her boundary of electrical stream, to prove her worth.
Laxmi what are you going to do with this amount was my question to her. Her other sister Ragini has also been assisted financially by VPM for her Physiotherapy under-graduation. Sir, we have only one room where 8 family member stay and she funds it very difficult to study at home. Once I join MNC, I am going to ensure that she shifts to PG to focus on her study.
Well done Laxmi , stay blessed .
Preeti
Preeti completed her course at Polytechnic Institute and was determined to pursue B.Tech. She lost her mother in 2014, who was working as an Anganvaadi Worker with a meagre salary of Rs. 3,000 per month and Preeti’s father runs a barber shop with a monthly income of appx Rs. 10,000.
Preeti has two sisters and one brother. Being the eldest, Preeti is responsible for a majority of the household work. Preeti lost her mother in 2014 and her life insurance policy helped in covering some of her educational expenses. Preeti’s family stays in a rented single room house, and her father’s shop is also rented. As such, making both ends meet is a major financial challenge for the family. VPM entered into their life at a very appropriate time and provided assistance for Preeti’s 3rd and 4th year fees. This step will enable the other 3 children to also pursue their studies.
We feel fortunate to be helpful to such needy families. VPM has a total commitment of Rs. 1,15,000 for Preeti with Rs. 28,435 already disbursed as her fifth term fees.

Sahil’s parents stay in village Narnaud, 20 km away from Jind. His father has faced a lot of financial hardships, having lost all his savings which was kept as a deposit with PAUL, Chit Fund, being their employee.
Later, he took a loan for a car and ran the car as his own taxi service. Unfortunately, he lost this business also. He is now running a small shop within his village selling ladies suits with a meagre income. His other son is doing extremely well in his BSc studies at Delhi University. We salute all the parents for their grit, and for ensuring the education of their children inspite of all the hardships.

Shashank was only 19 years old when he lost his parents in a car accident. From belonging to a caring family to becoming an orphan was a very disheartening tragedy for Shashank and his brother.
Shashank’s father was the principal and his mother was a lecturer in R.K.S.D. Public School, Kaithal. Thanks to the school management who took care of their studies upto Class 12th and provided financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh each to both of the brothers for their further studies. With this assistance they were able to complete their studies till their 2nd year of college.
